I commend and espect anybody who has joined our military forces over the years. Here recently my son has said that he too will sign up for the early enlistment program for the Marines. As it looks we'll also be taking a different approach to the recruiting system. Which means Bryan will now be looking for experienced and proven ball players instead of someones friends or family members, to fill the gaps when needed. As well open competition for other spots on the roster. I think me and Mike Black hit it on the head when we both agreed that we really didn't practice as much as we should've so really the results of this season shouldn't be suprising. I think we can all agree that when you get older you just can't come in at game time and perform at your best without ever having practiced. I mean honestly I would think we need more practices then less, as we get older. If anything it rubs off the rust and at the very least burns a little winter fat off. It also gives the coach something to base his lineup off of. That being said, it was a wet spring and practices were limited. Either way you get my point. He is consistent for both teams consistently bad. He will make the calls back. It is far worse to see an ump inconsistant ump who does not make the calls back. You should watch the tuesday night division if you want to see inconsistent umps. Certain teams get every close call because the umps like them. There are far worse umps out there. It was also nice to see that there was alot of interest in our team continuing to play on togethter into the next year. I came away from the meeting feeling as though everybody wants to give this thing one more chance. In general I think its safe to say that we all agreed on doing about three tourney's a year and going back to middle D, that part is crucile. I don't think anybody would argue with the fact that we don't belong in Upper D. As far as I know, it was not Bryan who asked the league to put us there. I think its because we scored alot of runs in the preseason tourney and the games were close with upper D type teams. If I remember right? I do recall Black years ago during our undefeated year of 2006, at the seating tourney in which we went 0-2 , he told the late Bob Townsend that we didn't have all our player's there and that we needed to be placed in upper D. That went unheard. Then when us and Big Al's were both 6-0 and one team was to be moved up, Black again told Bob that we should be the ones to move up. Again that fell upon def ears. The only thing that seperated us from Big Al's at the time was that we had scored one more run then they had against their opponents. Weird, I know. But crap like that happens all the time. I say next year we don't play the preseason tourney and see where they put us. I'd also like to get rid of Steve Anthony as director and get a petition going to get Roy out of there! My god he's horrible! Sorry, I do think he's a wonderful, friendly guy but enough is enough. Maybe he can find something else to do around the park like field maintenance or something.
