Tournament shakedown

I’ve been battling a low-level flu bug for most of the weekend (again with the excuses!), so instead of fixing the darn website, I decided to explore the preseason tournament schedule for the O-fers a bit more.

We open against Red Rockets on Wednesday at 6:15 p.m. on Memorial Field. If we win, we turn around and . . . → Read More: Tournament shakedown

All in all, not so bad

Let’s see … it’s three days after the first tournament of the year and I’m still in pain. I don’t know if that’s a sign of age or rust, but I’m betting some parts . . . → Read More: All in all, not so bad

And we’re off!

My goal in tournaments has always been to play some free baseball. Whenever we play more than the guaranteed number of games, I think the weekend has been a success.

3. Turn right on Park, which is the next road after Center.

From the satellite photo, it looks like a big park, and Art thinks . . . → Read More: Spring Fling tournament info

Midweek scoop

Houston, we had a problem…

My phone died Tuesday after I dropped it … into a sink. Dale picked up the tournament information — this I know — but I don’t have the details yet. I’ll get them onto the website Wednesday evening if possible, but certainly by first thing Friday morning.

Of course, phone calls will go . . . → Read More: Midweek scoop

And so it goes

Pain is universal, isn’t it? Seeing the news about LA Angels pitcher Nick Adenhart, who was one of three people killed by a suspected drunk driver on Thursday, hammered it home again. I didn’t have any connection with the 22-year-old. Frankly, I’d never heard of him until I saw his name on the news Thursday night. . . . → Read More: And so it goes

Coach to skip BP

I figure you guys can hit in the cages without me, so I’m probably going to skip the Ponderosa trip. I actually need to see as many pitches as anyone right now, but I’m still trying to work out the subtle nuances of my work schedule.

That’s a very fancy way of saying that getting up at . . . → Read More: Coach to skip BP
