The website received more than 7,000 comments over the weekend. Isn’t that exciting? Well, it would be, except that 6,996 of them were “comment spam,” i.e. computer-generated crap. My wife and I have been house-hunting with just about every available minute, trying to find our dream home and collect on that $8,000 tax refund you’ve maybe been hearing about. The time just seemed right, with interest rates at very low levels, a lot of homes on the market at lower prices, not as much competition to buy as in years’ past. It also helped that I lucked into a job that I expect to keep until I retire, win the lottery (and then retire), or publish the next multi-million best-selling book. Here’s what I think is going to happen in the O-fer world for the remainder of 2009: Aug. 14: Fall league fees due. Somewhere after that: League champion trophy and/or T-shirts distributed.
