Euthanized!

Since none of my messages to Twitter (I refuse to call them tweets, since they are 127-character masterpieces) went through, here’s a brief game update from Tuesday night.

We lost. Painfully. 24-9 in three-plus innings. But it’s fall league and I’m not having any sorts of chest pains over it.

There.

Oh, yes, and the Defensive Play of the . . . → Read More: Euthanized!

Final game set

Tuesday’s game, assuming we play it (it’s expected to be 55 degrees and windy, possibly rainy), is at 8:30.

The final fall league game will be 6:15 p.m. Thursday on Ramsey 2 against . . . → Read More: Final game set

I’m very glad I called

I’m counting this as a revenge game, even if nobody knew that it was. You see, Appleway Chiropractic beat us in the last game of the summer league. Mercy-ruled us, in fact, to drop our record to 12-2. It was an ugly game that featured, among other things, Art pitching and Art in the outfield. Also, . . . → Read More: I’m very glad I called

Call it the Brutal Squad

So it’s not just me, eh? I showed up in civvies just as the top of the first inning was ending. That 14-3 loss looked, well, it looked like most 14-3 losses, which is to say that I could try to infer some universal truth out of it, but really I would just be talking out . . . → Read More: Call it the Brutal Squad

O-fers win crucial fall league game

Headline makes it sound important, huh?

So the fellas won 18-13 against Big Sticks while the coach was working really, really hard in Nashville. Great job. Let’s make it a clean sweep for the week tonight . . . → Read More: O-fers win crucial fall league game

Where was everybody?

We had to start the game tonight with nine players. That’s very unusual for us. What wasn’t unusual was that we were the visitors (although that certainly hasn’t been the line this year), so by the time we took the field, we had 10 players. The eleventh, a certain Mr. Morgan who was eating Sloppy Joes . . . → Read More: Where was everybody?

Tuesday game review, err, review

El Patio was just a little too much for us to handle, toppling us 18-13 on Tuesday night. Things are just a little bit weird in fall league. It’s certainly quieter, although I’d say the fellas are still having a good time. I mean, Butters struck out looking to end the game, and he’s gotta be . . . → Read More: Tuesday game review, err, review

Moon Time kills our buzz

The O-fers rallied, again, this time from a 7-3 deficit to take a 10-7 lead, but we couldn’t hold it and couldn’t score again. Moon Time beat us 15-10 on Thursday night, and this might be the type of game I hate the most. Not the 31-3 blowouts; those games are over so fast that it’s easy . . . → Read More: Moon Time kills our buzz
