I could be mistaken

I cannot find it in the 2010 ASA rulebook, but I thought the national association had planned to change this year to start all hitters with a one-ball, one-strike count. Does anyone remember seeing that from the 2009 rules, or am I misremembering?

It is also possible that I am confusing that with the yellow balls, which . . . → Read More: I could be mistaken

Good practice, everyone

For once, all the factors aligned in our favor. Eleven of our guys showed up and the rain held off until we were done. I’ve got everyone’s requested jersey number, so my goal during the week is to get the shirts ordered.

… Hamburglar looks smooth in holding down left field.

… Art shows up late. Wait, actually, that’s a sign that it’s Art.

Now leading off

Based upon the turnout for the first semi-official practice of 2010, Beck is going to be leading off and playing the outfield. Not just 0ne spot. The whole outfield.

Yeah, I know. It was short notice, so everybody is forgiven. We’ll try to do better next week.

Chile earthquake may have shortened days

According to scientists, the Chile earthquake was strong enough to shorten our day by more than a millisecond. Oh, and it also shifted our axis by 3 inches.

Based on that, I think House should not be allowed to run the . . . → Read More: Chile earthquake may have shortened days
