The website received more than 7,000 comments over the weekend. Isn’t that exciting? Well, it would be, except that 6,996 of them were “comment spam,” i.e. computer-generated crap. It took me a good half-hour to delete all of them. In the process, I deleted a couple real comments.
To combat spam, I’ve made a couple changes to the comment options on the website. If they work properly, most of you who have been faithful readers (and commenters) won’t notice any changes. The big one is that I’m trying to set it up so that the *first* time someone comments, that comment is held for approval. If that comment is approved, then that e-mail address is considered safe for future comments.
I’ll try that for a day or two to see how it goes. I hate to have to back this thing up and allow comments only from registered users, so I’m willing to try a bunch of other things before we get to that step.
But 7,000 spam comments. Sheesh!
Edit: I posted the fall league schedule to the right. The final game has not been scheduled yet.
I am about 3 hours away.
The landlord is not a problem. Space is not problem. I made my suggestion. You guys come up with something. Out.
How far are you from Nashville, Southard?
The O-fers are always welcome at my house. My neighbors would come join the fun.
Party at Beck’s house, woooooo!
Also Gary you are in a rental and the landlords might not like that either.
I think those guys should drive the hill also Gary but you know that they won’t and drink beer at the same time. And of course we could have it here at the house but I still have stuff in dining room and am painting living room but I promise by next summer we are going to have a big one here. I am working on mine real hard because this place is the perfect place for it but just not organized enough yet to do it. Might talk to Ron and see if Sharon would be willing to let us all meet at his house but then again those guys are not going to stay if they have to drive hill. Lucky for me I now have relatives that live over there and can whine my way into letting me stay if we have it over there. I am going to softball tonight and I will talk to some of the guys and see if we can come up with something. I know they owe you to come up to your place but ya know how the whiney butts are.
I would say my house. But that might be to far to drive for some. I definetly have the room. The only thing is that we’ll have to wait a couple of weeks because my yard is being done. I’m dead serious about having it here at my place if you want. Besides those that live over the hill owe us. If your wandering I live in Woodland Park. ( 1 mile up Burke Rd ) Ma your more then welcome to come check it out first. I’ll call ya.
You are only saying that stuff Sean because the O-fers can’t come to your house as it is a million miles away.
The neighbors might as well get to know the Ofers sooner rather then later. I am thinking keg.
Yeah, but the neighbors doesn’t really need to know about Bryan’s real life so soon…LOL
sullys house would be fine im sure we could test out all the new items in the house to make sure everything works good who is all on the fall team this year
ha ha ha
Sully’s new house. Thats where.
Gary: Where could we have a get together that doesn’t cost a lot of money? Think, Think, Think…..
